Companion to the Sector Centrality Explorer, and the other way around: the F038 intersectoral exposures network that the rest of this site explores doesn't have all the data — it only tracks counterparty-level detail for a subset of instruments, and how much of that it captures varies sector by sector. The official balance-sheet data behind this dashboard is structurally complete for every sector and instrument, so this is the place to measure exactly what's missing from that picture, and how much. Click any instrument or sector below to add or remove it from the stack — including the instruments the F038 network doesn't track at all. 2003–2026, quarterly.

Instruments

Each band is that instrument's share of the selected sectors' total official balance-sheet value (all counterparties, not just the F038 intersectoral network) for the quarter; the y-axis rescales to whatever's currently stacked, so it only reads as "share of total" when every instrument is selected. With every sector selected (whole economy), assets and liabilities are identical by construction — every position is both someone's claim and someone's obligation — so only one panel is shown; narrowing to specific sectors splits them, since a single sector's assets and liabilities generally differ.
